I need someone to confirm that I am not crazy.....I have suffered from acid reflux for 5 years....have had all the normal tests...upper GI and endo......I have developed a crazy symptom that will not go away and I am starting to become paranoid over it....my chin and throat are hurting....I have never felt this before...it hurts all the way into my teeth and I wake up with the soreness and pain right away in the morning....the pain radiates down into my chest and I feel like something is constantly in my throat...hurts to swallow....dr thinks I am just in a bad spot right now and I taking 2 Nexium a day to see if that helps for 2 weeks....has anyone heard of this and what can I do to get rid of this....Thanks for any help

Perhaps you might have TMJ? It has a lot of the same symptoms you are describing. Just something to look into, and you may be grinding your teeth at night and that is why you wake up sore.

Mentioned this to my regular doctor and he dismissed because I do not have any jaw pain....I used to wear a night guard but I hated it....it was one of those bulky ones and I always thought I was going to choke....not sure what to do....my husband feels the soreness is connected to anxiety...thanks for the reply....

You do not necessarily have to have jaw pain to have TMJ. I have TMJ but don't have a ton of jaw pain. I mainly have a jaw that locks up, clicks, uneven when I open my mouth, trouble swallowing, teeth hurt. Every once in a while the jaw will hurt, but that doesn't have to be present to have TMJ.

Wanted to thank you for your response....so nice that someone actually took time to answer....just got home from ENT....and he is feels that it is muscular and I am getting this creme for my face and neck...so TMJ is a real possibility...

Same here. I have TMJ but hardly any jaw pain. I did have a sore jaw and ear a few days ago but that's rare. Mainly I have jaw clicking, neck pain (may or may not be the TMJ) and my jaw locks if I open it to wide
