Did that title get your attention? I wanted to ask, why do we have no thread... or reviews... or pretty much anything at all actually... for PBS Kids? Yes, I know it's emphasis is on kids, but i've recently seen a lot of shows that have a more main-stream appeal (like Word Girl). Plus, it's the only block that shows animated shows on week-days now, with CW4Kids being restricted to saturdays (which, by the by, sucks muchly). So.... anybody else agree?

Though PBS Kids does have a few cartoons, it doesn't have enough to be a major player in the game. I guess that's why.

Well, we have one now, I guess.
I haven't watched PBS Kids since my brother was 10, and after high school, Dragontales doesn't seem as interesting, y'know? Either way, if you want more threads as such, then post some.

Mickilia: Actually, I think just about all of the shows on PBS Kids! are at least partially animated. They might have about three live-action ones...
Gil: Well, yeah, but I was just noticing that even some of the shows marketed towards a broader audience then Dragon Tails was don't even get mentioned on the main site, even though we cover news for Play-House Disney and Nick Jr. and the like.

We cover PBS Kids announcements as we get them, and I know I've written up press releases for new seasons and such. We noted the newest season of WordGirl, for instance.
As for reviews, mostly we don't ask for the premieres and the shows don't come out on DVD, or we don't ask for them assuming not many of our readers will care.
If there's news that you think we ought to cover, you can always either start a thread about it here or submit it to the News team to get written up.

You gotta be effing kidding me.Arthur is still playing?I think that Wishbone series I use to watch all the time aired on PBS,but it's hard to care about a semi-animation station that doesn't seem geared toward a slightly broader audience other then preschoolers. Go figure.
A Chucky cartoon? I'm all for it, as long it's better than that last awful comic book mini-series.
But seriously, I haven't watched PBS regularly since Sherry Lewis & Lamb Chop's show was cancelled back in the 90's (RIP Mrs. Lewis). I really wish they'd put that show back on the air.

The reality is that most cartoons are for kids. The difference is that some like to entertain the older audience as well. That isn't the case with PBS. PBS is just E/I nonsense for the under 7 crowd.
It is true that rabroad has a large CN fanbase, but we are the minority. Ratings-wise CN is in third. So, if we've learned anything it's that each site caters to it's audience which is why PBS gets overlooked here.

Anyway, on with the subject. I recently downgraded to Basic Cable (no CN, Disney, or Nick, and somehow I don't feel like I miss it!
), but I still get the Kids Thirteen channel (1.13). I'll watch an occasional cartoon on that channel when I don't feel like watching Maury Povich's game show "Who's Your Daddy?" 
I watch an occasional episode of Arthur; the new cartoon about Martha the talking dog is cute, and I just saw a recent episode of Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman (the rodeo/ranch ep where he's riding a mechanical horse rounding up stray kitties) that I thought was amusing.
I think our main problems with the PBS cartoons are that they're all just too white-bread-and-mayonnaise for those of us who are accustomed to all the
slam-bang action and adventure shows we see on a regular basis.
Lamb Chop's Play-Along is currently airing on the 24-hour qubo channel. I had a chance to watch it on a Digital PA station for about a few minutes before I lost the signal completely.
