I watched it last night, it isn't too bad and actually better than the 1984 effort.
It's mostly faithful to the story with a few extra bells and whistles, with the same ending. Some of the acting from the kiRAB is a bit ropey but you expect that I suppose, and I thought the character of Vicky was much more of a harpy than she was in either the story or the first adaptation.
It's also quite gruesome and not only boasts a full frontal sex scene, but copious amounts of stabbings, a broken bone exiting a wrist, a slashed throat, corn husks in eye sockets and dubious amounts of dead children.
My only complaint is that like the earlier version, the events leading up to the child coup are shown in a prologue whereas the original story kept what happened to the adults a mystery until quite far into it.
