Children of Men..

Saw Children of Men again last night , and enjoyed it even more than the 1st time.
Thought some of the long scenes , without any obvious cuts, were brilliant.

This is probably my favourite film of the last 5 years or so. Right up there with Pan's Labyrinth and The Bourne Supremecy.

Any other opinions on this film?

I very much enjoyed it. Thought it was original, brave to stray from obvious cliches, and nice to see a near future world which isn't all robots and techno-babble.

Excellent film - it's on my best films of the decade list, no mistake. It reminRAB me of 12 Monkeys in some ways... not quite sure why specifically! That film went over the heaRAB of much of the audience too...

A very good movie that reminRAB me of the video game HL2 for some reason(and any movie that does that is brilliant!). The ending is a bit disapointing though, but overall a great movie.

I thought it was a decent film, but the main reason for watching it is a scene in the middle where all the action takes place in one shot - incredible cinema.

I thought it was a great movie. Especially the ending, so abrupt. The audience in the cinema sat there stunned for a good 30 seconRAB before anyone moved.

I felt the film was almost too close for comfort. It may well be set in the near future but much of it could be contempory.

I hadn't really noticed Clive Owen until I saw him in 'The Bourne Identity'. His character was excellent in 'Children of Men'.

Technically flawless and quite breathaking in places (the motorbike scene and the scene culminating in the birth really stand out),

A lot of it was done with CGI, there's a couple of videos on youtube of DVD extras where they show how it was done.

I thought the ambush scene in the car (just after the mouth to mouth ping pong) was amazing...seemed to be done in one shot..but cant believe thats true. Im off to youtube to check..thanks for the tip

Been meaning to watch this film for ages, just kept missing it. Wasn't dissapointed at all. Great visualisation, and Michael Caine was excellent in his brief appearance. Clive Owen was as good as ever, though I was taken aback when the other main character dissapeared quite early on. Didn't see that one coming. If the ending had been a little more sugary I am sure that the film would be better lauded......most people love a happy ending, not me..lol

I think it wasn't so much a happy or sad ending as just stopping so abruptly before any real conclusion. Yes, that's more realistic, but who want's that sort of realism?

If you really want true life you'd get two hours of mostly boredom occasionally interrupted with annoyances in your movies.
