hi all, im sitting here watching star wars a new hope.

can anyone remember the day they went to see this at theatres, the film has a nice saturday afternoon theatre feel to it....

does anyone else feel nostalgic when watching the original star wars film

i can almost smell the popcorn and the westlers hotdogs

The first time I saw Star Wars I was five. I remember fanta, and crisps.

From the film, I remember the part where look is training with the lightsabre, and getting shot by the spheric droid. I also remember the part where they're getting crushed in the garbage disposal.

The first time I saw it was in the British Forces cinema in Hannover, Germany (I was 10 and my father was in the army). The place was packed, I can't remember much about how I felt after seeing it, the only thing I can recall from that night is that everybody stood up when the national anthem was played.

I came back from having been at sea for six months and one rainy midweek afternoon sat in a cinema in Sittingbourne, Kent (I think it's gone now) and watched it on my own, as it was right at the end of its first run. Best way to watch films, if you ask me.

At the time I thought it was pretty good, if a little hokey.
