Chickens and Garden mix?

I would like to allow our chickens to have access to the vegatable garden next year, and I need advice.

Is this possible?

What vegetables, other than tomatoes and peppers, would need to be fenced off from the chickens?

Definitely fence tomatoes, melons, cukes.
They may pick at the lettuces.
The biggest problem I have w/ my chickens in the garden is their scratching. They are relentless and can scratch so much they dig plants up.

If you are going to allow them access, I would wait until all plants are well established and large. Well into Summer.
