1979 chevy truck. 2 wheel drive. disc brakes up front, dum brakes in the rear. The brakes are squishy. I bled the brake lines. I changed the master cylinder. I bench bled the master cylinder. I bled the lines again. There was no puddle around the tires to signify a leak. I didn't change out the push rod, because they are not the same. When I press the brake, I can hear a squish noise. I can't remember if I could always hear this or not. The seal or ring that goes around the the tip of the push rod, where it meets the master cylinder, looks beat up. What could be the problem? Please list all the problems that it could be, so I can do trial and error.
Also, I don't know if I was doing something wrong, but I recently bled the lines, the left side sprayed when I bled it, while the right side just poured out, like there was no pressure behind it. I am just trying to give all the details I can that I noticed. I am not a mechanic, but I can get the job done with some guidance. Thank you.
The squishy noise is not the problem. The brakes are still squishy and not working. Sorry for misleading.
