Here's the deal, I have a 1959 Monterey with a factory 383... But it's old and almost seized, and 2 barrel carbed, and I want to fix this car up and make it a daily driver year round... I also have a 305 out of a 91 silverado, TBI, with the wiring harness and all that junk, and a spare 700R4 transmission kicking around... I want to install this 305 engine in the car because it's newer, has less than 180000 kms and will be more reliable in the winter than a carbed engine. I'm also thinking of putting in power brakes from a 90's caravan but thats to be dealt with later... I'm just wondering what kind of driveshaft I'd need from the transmission to the rear wheels, because the wheelbase in the monterey is about 127 inches... and the truck this was from is 131 inches, and I'm worried about engine mounts and all that junk too, input is greatly appreciated!
