chevy tahoe 1996 350 engine 150,000?

i purchased this vehicle used and want to know what are some things i can do to make it last. its 4x4 i changed the oil and after only 100 miles its really black i put synthetic high mileage oil in. Please let me know what maitence things i can do to make sure this vehicle last ?
 
change all fluids and use synthetics....take it to someone like me....a car guy and have them check it with a fine tooth comb....always use quality parts when they do go bad....like napa...or the dealer!!
