chevy malibu stalls when it hits bumps?

My moms 2001 chevy malibu stalls when it hits bumps in the road. I drove it and it only stalled once for me. Doing 60 on the highway and hitting bumps it was fine but when going through a toll booth doing about 5 and hitting a bump in the road caused it to stall. Anybody know what could be happening?
