chevy cavalier transmission?

It could be dirty or worn transmission fluid or filter or a dirty fuel filter or bad plugs or wires or even bad connections on the ignition module where the wires plug into.Even a bad air filter can cause such problems or a bad cat converter or dirty injectors etc.

I'd start with changing the transmission filter and fluid it probably has over 70,000 miles on that vehicle and is about due for it anyways. Then do the basic tune up but be sure you clean the ignition module connections with a wire brush one by one and treat the fuel , plus be sure the air filter is okay and be sure the exhaust system is okay bec the cat converter can cause loose in power etc too.

Hope that helps and best of luck.

i have an 04 cavalier, and i am pretty sure the transmission is going out of it. what its doing is say i go to pass someone, i hit on the gas and all it does is rev up???? also even tho a cavy doesnt have really any power, its feels as it has lost some, like in the take off of a stop light and so on...sound like the trans or what? thanks

So many words without telling if it is a manual or automatic. If it's a manual look at the clutch. Yes, if it's an automatic check fluid levels and have the filter replaced if it's been doing it a while it needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
