i have a ? abt a small block 350 chevy i have.any one that reads the super chevy magazine in the nov 2008 magazince they talked abt rebuilding a 350 that had abt 175 horses when they started and when they ended they had 428hp.i have the same engine and id like to rebuild it to do the same.will.020 pistons make a big difference when trying to make it a power house?would a 2 bolt main hold that much power or should i get it made to be a four bolt main?anyhelp would be appreciated.id like to make it a strip/street engine for my truck.what would anyone recomend to get 428 hp oout of my 2 bolt mian 350.

Get sweet heads, 428 is alot so you may be pushin out some bread. A 2 bolt should be fine. But seriously man when i was trying to figure out what engine i wanted to rebuild and how much horsepower i could afford the old time chevy guys helped me out. Find a 350 fanatic and let him teach you his ways young bull

if you go to summit racing or jegs they have kits you can buy that may help you

possibility's are endless id get with a chevy performance forum talk with some gear heads see what they say they did or didnt do to their motors

a 2 bolt main will be fine unless you plan to charge or boost your motor at all if it will be N/A than 2 bolt main will be fine even at 500hp, .20 over pistons will not make that big of difference, the bore size doesn't make more power, higher compression pistons will and any bore over size, spend the money and get forged pistons, there are many facotrs to the HP equation and depending on engine wear you may need to go .30 over or even more .30 is a more common bore over size for most motors
