First check connector with a simple tester. It looks like a pen with a little light bulb inside. Find the diagram on the plug. Test with lights on. If light comes on the trailer has a short in it. Check your wires. If the light in the tester doesn't come on you need a relay under the dash that controls lights. Fuses will be good even with a bad relay!
