You have a bunsen burner flame so that it is burning with a blue flame and you are holding a piece of copper wire in the flame for a couple minutes. The copper wire is shiny to start with and glows red hot when in the bunsen burner. The wire becomes dull after the heating.

Write a balanced equation for the reaction
