if something is like S^-2 so 12 is on the top left corner 5 is on bottom left corner of s and -2 is on top right corner...so this means 12 is the mass , there are 5 protons and because charge is -2 there are 7 electrons?

what about oxygen O say top left 16 top right is -2 bottom left is 8 and bottom right is 2 so 16= mass -2 charge 8 protons 10 electrons? and its diatomic

ok what if it is 0 top left is 16 and bottom right is 8 so because no charge is shown it has 8 electrons and protons?

normal 02(g) gas state has 8 electrons but 0^-2 has 10 electrons in its ion form?

an finally if S is an atom top right charge is -2 and top left is 33 mass =33 than how can u find how many proton, electron and neutrons there are?
k what if it is 0 top left is 16 and bottom right is 8 so because no charge is shown it has 8 electrons and protons?*** i meant bottom left
in standard notation for oxygen if the charge is shown at top right than u do not put the 2 at bottom right to shows its diatomic cause without the 2 on bottom it's showing it as a ion? or do you put it alway put the 2 on bottom right for oxygen?
O or 0 are just atoms or oxygen
