Hey everyone. I am doing a lab in which HCl + NaHCO3 ---> NaCl + H20 + CO2
I need to figure out how much CO2 was in the reaction... i'm puzzled. Can someone elp me out? I need to calculate Percentage Yield.. I have the theoretical amount but I don't know how to find the actual experiment amount. I found the theoretical amount to be 0.56 g CO2
Here is all the data:
Mass of dish and watchglass : 76.053 g
Mass of dish , watchglass, NaHCO3: 77.133 g
Mass of NaHCO3: 1.08 g
Mass of HCl + beaker : 50.262 g
Mass of dish, watchglass,product : 84.338 g
Mass of remaining HCl in beaker: 42.514 g
Mass of HCl used : 7.748 g
Mass of dish, watchglass, product (after heated) : 76.769g
Mass of product (NaCl) : 0.716 g
Percentage Yield NaCl : 96.7 %
Percent yield of CO2 : ??????? HELP
thanks soooo much! any help is awesome!
