The concentration of Sodium Chloride in an aqueous solution that is 2.23M and that has a density of 1.01 g/mL is _________ % by mass.

2.23 M means 2.23 mol NaCl in 1 L of solution ( = 1000 mL)

mass NaCl = 2.23 mol x 58.44 g/mol= 130.3 g
mass solution = 1000 mL x 1.01 g/mL = 1010 g

% by mass = mass solute x 100 / mass solution = 130.3 x 100 / 1010 = 12.9
