Identify as element, compound, solution, or mechanical mixture.
a) a cloudy liquid is left to stand for several hours. At the end of this time, it is more cloudy toward the bottom of the liquid.

b) A clear, colourless liquid is heated. It first boils at a constant temperature, but after a period of time, the temperature increases. The liquid continues to boil at a higher fixed temperature.

c) A colourless gas is reacted with burning phosphorus. Part of the gas is unaffected, regardless of the amount of phosphorus used.

d) A solid has a sharp melting point. When heated strongly, it decomposes into another solid and a gas.
