Can you check my answers please? If wrong, please explain!

Why are there small jumps in the 1st ionization energies of the element as you move across a period? My answer: I would say as you move across it slightly decreases or increases.

As you move across a period, the atomic radii decrease due to a greater nuclear force being exerted on them. Therefore it takes a larger energy to take one of their electrons than it would an element farther to the left.
