Hey this question is a question in a mini assignment i have to do. I am in grade 12 chemistry, i cant figure out exactly how to do this one. If you know how to work out this problem, I would greatly appreciate it if you show me how to solve it:
The hydrochloric acid in a dilute solution with a mass of 610.28g, a specific heat of 4.18J/g C, and containing 0.33143 mol of HCl reacted exactly with the KOH in 619.69g of KOH solution, specific heat 4.18J/g C. The equation is
HCl + KOH -> KCl +H2O
The reaction caused the system's temperature to change from 15.5333 to 19.410 C. Use these data to calculate the heat of reaction in units of kJ/mol HCl.
THANKS very much to all that help. I am offering points to the best answer
