Chemistry:CFU interesting question?
A food inspector wants to check for bacterial contamination at a local restaurant. As part of his test, he moistened a sterile cotton swab and then swabbed down a 1cm square surface. The swab was suspended in 2ml of sterile water and vortexed to suspend swabbed bacteria. 100 microliter of this suspension was added to 9.90 ml of sterile water and 100 microliter of this dilution were plated. after incubation overnight, 106 colonies appeared on the plate. How many CFU were present on the cm square surface.
PLease show work! thanks!
