I'm not quite sure how to determine bond angles in molecular geometry from a formula or a lewis dot structure. My textbook suggests to use species type such as AX2 , AX3E, and I'm not sure how to use them. Is there an easier way to use these types? If not, how do you determine bond angles less than 109.5 degrees by just taking a look at the lewis dot structure?
Also, how does molecular orbital theory work?
Thanks!
