the mean molar mass of the atmosphere at the surface of Titan, Saturn's moon, is 28.6g/mol. the surface temperature is 95K, and the pressure is 1.6atm. assuming ideal behavior, calculate the density of titan's atmosphere.

was absent for entire chapter withe swine flu :/

start with these two equations...
PV = nRT
n = mass / mw

substitute and rearrange...
PV = (mass / mw) RT
mass / V = mw x P / RT

since density = mass / V...
Density = mw x P / RT

solve...
density = (28.6g/mole) x (1.6atm) / [(0.08206 Latm/moleK) x (95K)] = 5.9 g/L

hey, hope i can somewhat help....
well u know that Density = mass/volume. The mass is already given. So all you have to do is find volume. Use PV=nRT. solve for Volume. V=(nRT)/P so I guess you just substitute it and get Volume. So now you you do mass/volume. Sorry thats the best I could do : O Good luck on ur test!
