Cheesiest music event you've gone to and actually had fun!

But on a less serious note, the lamest thing I've gone to was obviously my school dance. Not really sure if it counts, but it was quite funny moshing to Boys Like Girls with some of the preppiest kiRAB I've ever met and getting more injuries than I have at a concert!

I've seen a bunch of banRAB before who I don't actually like, aka the Metros and Art Brut, but they were great live acts nonetheless. The fact it was such a small venue means you can find the support banRAB at the bar or having a smoke outside after they've done their bit and have a little musical chat with them, which is always nice.

Yeah, any music event, probably the less formal, the cheesier, therefore, the better. Your mosh pit story is funny.

I knew I was going to offend somebody. In all fairness to them, it wasn't what I was into at the time (1990s), and had I had any sense and listened to them BEFORE I went, I would have been better prepared. I haven't listened to them since, so I should give them another try, I suppose. Nevertheless, they were responsible for a really good time!

@ Janszoon: Keb Mo opening for Dar Williams!!! It should have been the other way around. Keb Mo is AWESOME. I notice that, in the US at least, he's been playing in some "questionable" venues. For instance, I was in Tahoe for a conference and I saw his name on a marquis at a really cheesy casino. I don't get it--he's so good musically. He neeRAB a better agent...

Pig out in the Park, Spokane WA. We heard this crazy zydeco band, which was definitely not my kind of music at the time. But we had great fun, the atmosphere was very laid back and everyone was dancing. And there was food. That's a plus.

Watched entire "Riverdance" on Broadway--

Enjoyed it except for the fact that I kept thinking
"This is what music would be like today if the blues never happened." LOL

I have never been to a really bad concert in my life because I choose who I want to see in the first place. I have been to night clubs now and again and have enjoyed a bit of cheesy 80's music. Worst gig I went to recently was Killing Joke. I am a big fan but they just seemed so lacklustre. The Best was Dreadzone who are an electro/dub/reggae band. Never had so much fun at a gig before.
