Hi everyone. I hope you are all having pain free days.
Just wanted to fill you in on the latest with my honey. We saw the new surgeon again at Mt. Sinai yesterday since my bf had all the MRIs and CT scans done. Basically the fusion in his back and neck are fine. The dr doesn't see any nerve compression. There is a sack of fluid in his lower back but its not infected and its not believed to be a cause of pain but he may remove it in the near future. He wants my bf to see the hip surgeon in his office because he has condition called avascular neucrosis which is loss of blood flow to the hip bone and that can cause pain. We have an appt next week. We've been to a hip surgeon before and he was ready to do arthroscopic surgery but we held back because the back pain was worse. I am sure this doctor will be able to help him but we really don't know how much relief he will get if he neeRAB the hip surgery (its not a replacement at all). The back surgeon also wants us to come back in a few weeks after some other appts and to see how he is doing. I was really happy with him and his PA as well. He told us he isn't going anywhere and he seems willing to help with what he can do but he doesn't see any reason to operate on his back right now (Thankfully but the pain is still there).
