Check Engine Light On On a 06 Pontiac Vibe?

I would suspect the oil change person knocked a wire loose on the transmission or somewhere else under the car. What did the code say? The cost of repair is impossible to estimate due the the fact that you don't say what the failure code is.

I recently took my 2006 Pontiac Vibe in for a oil & transmission fluid change before driving from LA to Vegas. Now my check engine light is on. The mechanic also did a read on my engine BEFORE the fluid changes and it said that everything was fine. Now, what could be the possible reasons that the light is on and how much do you think it will cost?
Also, the radio will not turn on (but the clock still works) and the mirrors do not turn. I was thinking that this is an electrical problem, but could this be something that would cause the light to come on as well?

It could be anything, you could take it to a Pontiac dealership and have them skan for the problem. Usually dealerships will charge a lot for a diagnosis, but if you decide to have the car fixed there, they will usually deduct that diagnosis fee.

If the check engine light came on shortly after having it serviced, they may have knocked something loose during the service. A visual inspection might resolve the issue. Did the radio issue and mirrors start after the service? If so, I would take it back to the servicing dealer and raise a fuss.
