On my 98 Chevy S10, I recently had to replace my alternator, and since the battery in it was a good 3 and a half years old, I decided to replace that too. Not immediately after, but maybe 20 miles or so after both new parts were put in, my check engine light came on and won't turn off. I don't think anything is wrong, and that maybe the light needs resetting. My question is, if I did try to reset the light and it doesn't go off, what else might be wrong? I also know my gas cap is not loose either. Thanks.
