Check Engine light came on on 01 Ford Mustang? HELP!!?

i have a standard 01 mustang and two days ago the "Service Engine Soon" light came on. It had happened before and stayed for two days. It stopped coming up after we had the oil changed, but it has come on again and we don't know what could be the problem. Please help us figure out the problem. it has 176,000 miles. could the sensor be bad?

Two gazillion modern sensors in use. Have it code scanned. Most auto parts stores can do this for free. Advanced system scans usually have a fee involved. Guessing at it gets real expensive real quick.
 
I know this seems trivial but have you checked your gas cap? If that is not screwed on all the way your oxygen sensors will not read correctly and turn the light on. Not always the problem but somtimes it is and its the easiest one to check.
 
well just casue you change oil does mean you did all the service it needed can be prett ymuch anything loose gas cap to a bad spark plug if theres a autozone near by go have it scan might help its free there to get a scan
