You might want to check out the vehicle speed sensor. The vehicle speed sensor tells your cars computer how fast you are going. They are usually located on the transmission. I would go to your local auto part store and ask them to read the code that your car is reading. If it the code tells you that it is the vehicle speed sensor. Just replace the vehicle speed sensor and you will be all set.
