The check engine light just came on in my 1997 Pontiac Sunfire. How do I check the engine? I have heard that there is some fuse I have to stick a wire in which will make the check engine light, and the way it blinks tells me what is wrong with the car. If so, I need to know which fuse/how to do it, plus what all of the different codes mean. Thanks.

That's the old OBD-I GM system your talking about. Since 1996, all cars have gone to the OBD-II system and you can no longer read the codes out on the dash check engine light. Now you buy a $60 OBD-II code reader from http://www.actron.com and it plugs into the diagnostic connector under your dash and the steering wheel area.
