Chavs in the cinema

I sat next to a women watching Avatar eating a massive bag of cheese doritos. Her crunching and the smell was very irritating. I had visions of me murdering her.

They should ban all food in cinemas. Cant people go without for a couple of hours?

I one ate popcorn and i was very considerate and quiet eating it. In silent emotional scenes I let the popcorn melt in my mouth without munching.
 
I too hate these morons. Me and the other half went to watch Sherlock Holmes and in walked a group of chav teens. The ring leader kept repeatedly getting them to shift seats (perhaps if they attended class they could read the seat numbers on their tickets?) and at regular intervals kept yelling 'lesbian' at her friend which sent the other into fits of laughter. They also refused to let people get to there seats. I think they should do more 18/21 plus screenings as it ruins the whole bloody experience for me!:mad:
 
When i saw 'Avatar' at Cineworld in Sheffield on the opening night there was an usher walking around with a torch every so often. If he saw anybody misbehaving or using their phone he shone the light right at them and told them to stop. I wanted to shake his hand! :D

Worst experience for me was when i saw 'Hancock' and a group of chavs were sat at the back, shouting obscenities, throwing popcorn and generally being a bunch of immature tw*ts. The final straw for me came when they started putting their hanRAB in the way of the projection casting shadows on the screen. I turned around and loudly yelled a load of abuse at them, telling them how they're ruining the film for everybody, i've never seen a bunch of people shit themselves like that in my entire life! They looked terrified and didn't utter another word until the film had finished. I got a round of applause from the audience :D

Don't ask them nicely, it never works, they just think it's funny.
 
I took my cousin to see New Moon on her 17th birthday and was totally awestruck by the amount of noise in there! Every time Edward came on screen there were cheers coming from girls all around the theatre. Then when Jacob was on the same thing happened, and a shouting match began between the groups of Edward and Jacob fans. "Are you mental?? Jacob's buuufff, innit?" "Noooo! Look at his faaaace! He's butterz!" Then there were whoops from the audience during the smooching scenes or whenever Jacob took his shirt off. And then there were the shouted protests of people just wanting to watch the movie. "Shut UP, will you??" "What you telling US to shut up for, YOU'RE shouting!!" It was hilarious to listen to and probably more entertaining than the movie itself. :D

But I usually go when it's almost empty - much more enjoyable that way. :)
 
Second day in a row I had an idiot in the cinema sat next to me. I think he had something wrong with him as he kept whistling every 10 minutes or so for a few seconRAB until his mate/carer kept telling him to be quiet.
I'm going again tomorrow, wonder what treat is in store for me!
 
I had a problem getting my ticket for Edge Of Darkness yesterday. This large group of tween girls about 11 or 12 were spending ages getting their tickets and then they held the que up even more by buying every kind of food and beverage the cinema sold.

Luckily they weren't in the same screen as me - they were watching a tame as hell 12A:D
 
No i just kicked my legs over my partners so i wouldn't be knocking them on his seat.
Really annoyed me...took away from the movie.

Also i remember a few months back i went to see a movie with my grandparents who like to sit at the back because apparently its not as noisy (bless them...). As soon as we sat down these, and i hate using the word but its the only way to describe them...chavvy girls start talking so loudly all over the cinema. I mean it went on for ages, one even started singing.
My granny had enough and shouted at them, they were scowling at her the rest of the way through the movies. Just awful...hate teenagers like that.
 
I don't think people can realise how intrusive even whispering can be. If you're sitting by/infront of/behind someone, you can still hear them even if they talk in hushed tones, and it does spoil the film.

Considering how much it costs to see a film in the cinema, no, I'm not going to lighten up about this issue.
 
I have an Unlimited card so I've seen and heard it all.

I find the best times to go cinema are Orange Wednesdays and on Friday/Saturday nights when the new releases are out. This is because the cinemas are usually packed and the 'chavs' are more intimidated by a bigger crowd and are less likely to misbehave because of the reaction they get from people. SounRAB strange but it's true.

I went to watch It's Complicated yesterday and four loud teenagers came in (I picked a late showing too, to avoid this). They were extremely loud for the first part of the movie and then they just got up and left. My question was - why would they pay to watch it? It's obviously aimed at a more mature audience so why would four 15 year old morons pick to choose it? So confusing.

I hardly react to them though. The most I've done is when some large 14 year-old purposely came and sat right behind me halfway during the movie and started kicking the back of my head really hard to impress his frienRAB who were a few rows down and found it hilarious. I let it go on a while before I finally had enough and screamed at him, "Do that one more time you fat prick and I'm going to break your nose". I'm not proud of the way I handled the situation but I got a few round of applause from some other people as he ran away. :p
 
I forgot to mention, while I was watching Daybreakers, not only were there the afore-mentioned birthday party chavs, there was also someone sitting right behind me going through countless bags of crisps. Don't think it was a chav though.
 
i so agree with, the smell with some of the food they offer is DISGUSTING:mad: and they way they eat popcorn jeeze, it shouldn't be banned cause like you i eat quietly aswell :p lol, but some people have no respect. i mean its alot of money to go cinema yet you still get the chavs mouthing off ruining the film.
 
No there's not, but i think some people just hope that they'll be quiet and give them the benefit of the doubt...unfortunately i'm finding that these people just don't change.
 
Thankfully the person who did it has been given a 12 month sentence.

He'll be out in 6months though. :(

Personally I think he should get a life time of mental health treatment and if he does anything else so callous then he goes away for life.

Chavs ruin everything they touch.

I saw The Hangover in the cinema and I can assure you I'm far from a chav.

Take your misguided judgements elsewhere.
 
I've told people to be quite before, I usually say 'I've paid to see the film, not listen to you'. But my son's told me not to say anything to the chavs any more, I think he's worried that because I'm a 66 year old woman, they're going to follow me out of the cinema and throw bleach over me like that poor woman in LeeRAB.

Not that I'm going to take any notice of him, I just won't tell him. :rolleyes:
