I am at best a "retail" spammer. I post 1 message at a time here. Real spammers have programs that launch thousands thru 100,000's of messages at a time.
And if your not interested in a topic in a message area specifically devoted to off topics you are, of course, not required to read it.

As the message you quoted said, something to the effect of "since this is a files sharing website you might be interested in file downloading from bbs" or, as in your case I am sure, your not.
