Charm City cakes and cartoon characters?

Okay, for everyone here who is familiar with Charm City cakes, you can see where this thread is going. If not, I'll give you a heads up.

On the Food Network, there is this interesting little show called Ace of Cakes which stars veteran chef Duff Goldman. His specialty is creating custom designed cakes featuring anything you can possibly imagine. He and his crew run their own bakery in Baltimore, Maryland called Charm City Cakes. The show has run for six seasons with a seventh season already under filming.

I've been a die-hard fan of this show ever since I've first started watching it the past year. Duff, Geof, Mary Alice, and the rest of the crew's talent at cake making is absolutely phenomenal and when they design the cake you want, they do it to their fullest potential.

Now, for those who had watched the show since its inception, has anyone seen the episodes where the Ace of Cakes crew make cakes based on popular cartoon characters? I've seen one based on It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! which was fantastic! And while we're on that subject, what toons would you like to see designed by Charm City Cakes? :)

I don't know, Nightmare Before Christmas would be nice.

Isn't there a copyright issue with selling decorated cakes? It sounds ridiculous, I know, but I've noticed that most grocery stores have stopped doing cartoon characters and now just use those plastic overlays you can buy in stores.

When I was a kid my mom made me a Batman cake. It had the cheesy little plastic Batman face on it and it was clearly in the Superfriends mode.

Edit: I knew I wasn't misremembering.

Most bakers get officially-licenced cake kits.

The whole Charm City gang does good work. Saw what they did for the Kung Fu Panda premiere, complete with 3D models of the characters atop a mountainous terrain with golden dragons guarding the entrance. Beautiful. They also did a scale-model Hogwart's cake for the recent Harry Potter premiere as well.

I'd honestly would like to see what they could do with something twisted yet colorful, like Disney's Alice in Wonderland, Looney Tunes, or FLCL.

That's actually a very good point. I've seen episodes of the show where the crew make cakes based on official licensed properties like Boba Fett and his Slave One ship and of course, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown which are personally requested from their customers. I'm not sure if edibility skirts copyright or it's just that the companies holding the licenses just don't care enough to sue. Still, making cakes out of licensed properties and broadcasting it on cable TV is pretty bold. I sure as hell don't want to see Duff and co. have to cease and desist on making cakes based on licensed characters just because some paranoid license holders are demanding a few extra pennies in royalties.

I was getting a little worried that nobody was gonna be talking in this thread because they A: don't know what Charm City Cakes is or B: they don't care about this thread. I haven't seen a thread here that talks about Charm City cakes so I want to see if I can get something started. :)

Charm City Cakes did make an Alice in Wonderland cake but made it based on Lewis Carroll's original illustrations and not the Disney version. As for anime, I would love to see them make some anime cake designs like a Gundam cake or a Hellsing cake.

But what I would really love to see is a cake based on anything Final Fantasy. I would kill for an ExDeath or Kefka cake!
