'Charlie St.Cloud'- Movie discussion.

It's based on the book (which I am yet to read) but here is the trailer:

Does look really good...predictable in some parts but I think that's because the trailer does give away the biggest spoiler of all (which is obviously the death of his younger brother-I didn't put that in spoilers as i'm sure it is pretty much known).

So who is looking forward to this? It does look quite an uplifting film-about coming to terms with the death of a loved one. I'm sure a lot of people could identify with this movie if it's done right.

Opens in 2 weeks :)
 
I didnt recognise Zach Efrom with his grown up haircut. lol

It looks a bit naff to me and a film that is making too big an attempt at trying to play on the heart strings. I think the big question is whether he is delusional or if the kid is a ghost?
 
When I saw the trailer for this a couple of weeks ago, I thought it looked OK but thought it is going to be on the precipice of boring.

No doubt it will be getting a lot of movie goers - I know a fair few women from work who will see anything if it has Zac Efron in it, and a few more who will watch anything that sees him take his top off.

But for me it is a "watch if it is a slow week on sky" movie.
 
If you have Sky TV you might be able to get 2 free tickets to see it at selected cinemas on Tuesday 28th September at 6.30pm if you log into the Sky Website.

I'm going to see it at the O2 in Greenwich. I'm surprised because usually its sold out before I can claim free tickets for the free screenings. :(
 
I'm going in with no expectations even though I do know it's going to be sentimental tosh. lol
It's a free ticket to do something to pass a couple of hours. I'm not expecting to have an life changing moment. :p

To be honest I think it could be good and it will still get bad reviews purely because it has Zac Efron in it.
 
I saw it last night. I thought Zac was actually very, very good in it.

I didn't think much of the girl playing Tess either.

I felt the story was slow to begin with and then very rushed...
When Tess realised she was actually dead, and then the eventual ending where he saves her.

In the book, that is all pro-longed which it should be, as it's the best part of the story.
 
I saw it yesterday and loved it.

I haven't read the book and thought that it was going to be that Charlie had died in the crash all along so I was happy that he hadn't.

I thought Zac was amazing in it - you really felt his emotions which were vital to enjoy where the film was coming from. I hope he does more meatier roles like this in the future.
 
I immediately guessed that
Tess was dead as soon as I saw her head injury
, but I thought that there was going to be a
twist that Charlie himself was dead, like in Sixth Sense
 
I thought Zac was pretty good in this. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much from him. The actress playing Tess wasn't much good though. I could see where this one was going pretty much from the start.
An enjoyable film that I would watch again, but not one I would make a point of searching out to do so.
