Firstly, I'm a 21 year old uni student (2nd year), trainee teacher, never been arrested before. I have Autism. I live in the UK.
To cut a long story short:
I was very upset due to death of close friend, and ended up drinking alone in my flat. I went out to bury my pet rat that had died a few days earlier, and after burying the rat in the woods, I got into an arguement with someone and apparently threatened them with a swiss army knife, I was arrested. Charged with common assault and possession of an offensive weapon. I am due to appear at the magistrates court next week.
I've never been arrested before, so I have no idea what is going to happen...
What is going to happen to me ? Will I be sent to prison?
I'm training to become an English teacher (2nd year at uni, full-time student), so I assume my career is now over. Will the fact that I was very upset and have Aspergers Syndrome (form of autism, a social disorder) constitute as mitigating factors?
Has anyone been charged with this before? what happened to you?
