1. Ash Ketchum from Pokemon: I have always hated this kid. He is actually an okay character in Toshihiro Ono's Pokemon manga series, but is annoying as **** in the anime. He is dumb, arrogant, and over confident, not to mention the way he treats Team Rocket is abhorrent. He orders his Pikachu to electrocute them even when they are not doing anything wrong. If he was real, I would punch him in the mouth and knock out all of his rotten teeth.
2. Misty from Pokemon: Like Ash, I do not mind Misty in Ono's manga. However, she is an awful character in the anime. Unlike Jessie, she does not pull the ***** archetype off well. While Jessie is a deep and three-dimensional character, Misty is nothing more than a stale stereotype. Personally, I prefer characters who are interesting and well rounded, not ones who are boring and do little to make themselves stand out. In Johto, she ceased being ****** and became a useless lump. All she ever did was cheer for Ash in the background. In my opinion, this made her worse off than she initially was. At least she actually had a personality in the Kanto and Orange Islands sagas.
3. Yami no Yuugi/Pharaoh Atem from Yu-Gi-Oh!: This guy gives a new meaning to the term hypocrite. Often, he will berate people for their faults when he himself is extremely flawed. He is a cruel, sadistic murderer who relies on cheating in order to come out on top in games. He is the scum of the earth, yet he has the gall to negatively criticize others.
4. Hirito Honda from Yu-Gi-Oh!: Honda is not only useless to the plot, but the way he behaves around Shizuka is sickening. He often makes up lies about himself as a way to impress her, even though those lies only hurt her in the end. He also took advantage of her sexually while he was trapped in a robotic monkey's body during the Noa arc. Very few people think anything of it, but I find it plain disgusting. A person should not be allowed to get away with taking advantage of someone like that. What bothers me even more is that Honda x Shizuka is actually a widely accepted pairing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom. It should not be. Honda does not love Shizuka. He only views her as an innocent play thing to feast upon.
5. Shizuka Kawaii from Yu-Gi-Oh!: She is a Mary Sue and a damsel-in-distress.
6. Ranma Saotome from Ranma 1/2: Ranma is a typical machismo jerk. I loathe him. He is rude and has an ego the size of a small planet. Furthermore, I hate the way he teases and insults Akane. I do not blame her for beating on him regularly. He more than deserves it.
7. Akane Tendou from Ranma 1/2: I like Akane in the manga. However, the anime makes her ****** to the point of being obnoxious. Additionally, it makes her look very weak and incompetant in comparison to the other characters. For some reason, the anime writers hated her, which is a real shame. I wish they would have stuck more to the manga and portrayed her correctly.
8. Keiko Yukimora from Yu Yu Hakusho: Many in the Yu Yu Hakusho fandom claim that Keiko is an empowering character and an inspirational role model for young women. However, she is truly not. Keiko is a weak willed Yusuke fangirl who is extremely dependent upon him. Usually, she will either stand in the background screaming his name or serve as a damsel-in-distress for Yusuke to rescue. Overall, she is a waste of space.
9. Everyone from Inuyasha except Kikyou: With the exception of Kikyou, I wanted everyone from Inuyasha dead. Kikyou was the only character who was actually interesting. The rest were stereotypical characters who bored me.
10. All of the Sailor Scouts except Mercury, Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto from Bishoujo Sensei Sailor Moon: Apart from the four Scouts I mentioned, I found the Sailor Scouts to be cluless ditzes. All they ever seemed to care about were boys and trying to look attractive. Overall, I consider them weak characters and poor role models for young women.
11. Tuxedo Kamen from Bishoujo Sensei Sailor Moon: He is a typical hero boy devoid of a personality.
12. Everyone from Naruto except Kakashi, Shikamaru, and Chouji: I like Kakashi, Shikamaru, and Chouji, but everyone else from Naruto irritates me. They are annoying stereotypical characters. In particular, I cannot stand Sasuke. He is an angsty emo punk.
