Characters who have been in more than one series

I've recently had my suspicions confirmed that Goat from Megas XLR is the same character who appearned in MTV's short-lived Downtown series a few years ago - http://chrisprynoski.blogspot.com/2007/02/goat.html

He has also appeared in a Cartoon Network show called Metalocalypse.

I'm just curious: are there any other examples of cartoon characters who have turned up in completely seperate series? Or is Goat unique in this, the "Detective Munch" of animation?

It's no coincidence; George Krstic and Jody Schaeffer worked on both Downtown and Megas XLR. The reason why something pertaining to 'Pop TV' got destroyed in every episode of Megas was their revenge on MTV for canceling Downtown.

And Goat is hardly the first cartoon character to appear on multiple shows. Think how many different concurrent running series Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound and Scooby Doo have appeared on.

Hanzo, the ninja who was seen briefly on Yu Yu Hakusho also appeared on Hunter x Hunter, by the same creators.

The Dalton Brothers have appeared in multiple Hanna-Barbera cartoons, usually going up against lawmen Huck Hound or Quick Draw McGraw. They were also on the Really Rottens team on Laff-A-Lympics, and they also appeared on an episode of Yogi's Treasure Hunt.

Inspector Gadget has made several unbilled cameo appearances on the syndicated Heathcliff series. Gadget also appeared in live action form (played by voice actor Maurice LaMarche) in one of the live action wraparounds for The Super Mario Brothers Super Show. All 3 shows were produced by DiC.

Osamu Tezuka uses the Star System, where several characters appear in different stories and in different roles. Most notably Ham Egg, Rock, and Shunsaku Ban.

There's also the Red Guy who's a regular character in both Cow and Chicken and I.M. Weasel.

On one Sunday morning, a character called the Warrior King appeared in all 4 original shows on USA's Action Extreme Team: Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm, The Savage Dragon and Wing Commander Academy.

The Beagle Boys made a non-speaking cameo in the DD episode "In Like Blunt". And if one counts this, in the episode "Tiff of the Titans", we see a billboard that reads "Welcome to Duckburg" sporting a picture of Scrooge McDuck.

Bugs and Daffy made a quick appearance on an episode of Taz-Mania.

Homer Simpson appeared in an episode of Duckman. At the end of the show.

The Real Monsters made guest appearances on Rugrats.

Here's a few that I know in my favorite shows:

Jay Sherman/Peter Griffin/Bender/Pikachu/Mario Bros./Sonic(Simpsons)
Pete(Ducktales/Bonkers)
Yogi & Booboo/Fred Flintstone/Scooby/No.3(Billy & Mandy)
Blue Falcon & Dynomutt(Dexter's Lab)
Pac-Man/Mario/Donkey Kong(Futurama)
Quickdraw Mc.Graw(Samurai Jack)
Ace Ventura(The Mask)
Scooby & the gang/Speed Buggy/Blue Falcon(Johnny Bravo)
Ickis,Krumm, & Oblina(Rugrats)
Elmyra/Baby Plucky(Animaniacs)
Foghorn Leghorn/Marvin Martian(Taz-Mania)
Bart Simpson/The Griffins from Family Guy(South Park)
Bart Simpson(Tiny Toon Adventures)-which he's purple, not yellow and I think he had a different name.

Daria was originally on Beavis and Butt-head before getting her own series

The Hill family and Luanne (King of the Hill) appear on The Simpsons,in the episode where Bart's on a football team and Homer's his coach...

A couple of Simpsons characters cameo in Futurama....The three-eyed fish
and Bart Simpson (in doll form)...

...and vice-versa....Fry appears in a Simpsons couch-gag,and Bender cameos in a couple episodes....

Roger from American Dad made a brief appearance on the Family Guy season finale this year....

This is more of an anime mention and I don't think he actually appears, but I have been told that in Chobits, it is revealed that "perso-coms" were invented by the same person who invented the title game in Angelic Layer (Ichiro Mihara, AKA: "Icchan").

The Scooby-Doo characters appeared in 3 Dynomutt episodes.

Isis from The Secrets of Isis (a live-action show) later appeared as a member of the Freedom Force (in that segment of Tarzan and the Super 7), and made a guest appearance in an episode of the "Hero High" segments of "The Kid Superpower Hour with Shazam!".

The animated Fonzie and his dog Mr. Cool from Fonz and the Happy Days Gang later turned up as military mechanics on Laverne & Shriley's cartoon show.
