Characters that don't translate well to 3d

What 2d characters appears commonly in specifics "views", are hard to translate to a 3d medium or simply looks better in 2d that 3d?

Like Homestar Runner and The Cheat. Specially the Cheat, that I have no idea how it will actually look in front view.

The Simpsons. Not that they've ever really gone 3D except for that one funky Halloween special, but the designs don't really translate well to things like action figures and display models. Details like the buggy eyes and spiky hair usually give the sculptors problems.

I'm adding pretty much anything Hartman created. I was in horror upon seeing Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda's giant heads during those Jimmy/Timmy Hours. Like, creepy "Clown will eat me" horror. Not to mention Danny Phantom's ridiculous head shape on those screenshots and short trailers I saw of those Nicktoons Battle for Whatever video games.

Garfield: The Movie- And its sequel, Garfield, The Movie II: A Tale Of Two Kittens. He translated well into 3-D. My question is, why didn't Odie and Nermal became 3-D instead of just two live action animals?

Beavis and Butt-head were never great to look at in 2D, but they always ended up looking a heck of a lot uglier when translated to 3 dimensions.

And there hasn't been a lot of Ed, Edd and Eddy merchandise, but what I've seen I haven't liked all that much.

A while back, there were some limited edition sculptures based on "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends". Most of the characters actually translated surprisingly well into three dimensions, but Coco really does not read well in 3-D at all. Duchess wasn't included in the collection, but I imagine she wouldn't make the transition very well either.

I saw a commercial for Fruity Pebbles that had a television set, and a 3d version of Fred Flintstone and frankly--- it was scary.

The 2d animation of the commercial was a little funkier than the usual HB animation--- but it was kinda cool.

That 3d part though--- Ouch.

The Popeye characters look terrible in The Quest for Pappy, and Gadget and Brain look terrible in Inspector Gadget's Biggest Caper Ever.

Something smarter than making only Garfield CGI, having him look like a real cat, and having the other characters stay talking animals. That's for sure.

And let's not forget our favorite Burninator:

How would you go about making merchandising of this guy? There's no way it couls translate. Otherwise they probably would have made a trogdor plush/figure by now.

The weird way they do the hair of fuzzy haired characters like Marge or Disco Stu just look odd to me. Plus, the way they handled the glasses of most of the characters just doesn't work. Peter Griffin plushes look terrible for the glasses as well.
