Characters that are inspired or influenced by famous people

Most of the characters in "Queer Duck" were based on (I guess it might just be parodies of, actually) famous homosexuals. Harvey Fierstein, Paul Lynde, Oscar Wilde, Truman Capote....

*scratches head*

Marilyn Monroe was born in 1926 so unless Peter Pan started production in 1938 and took 15 years to finish that statement would be inaccurate.

Perhaps I was mistaken about Monroe's age, but all that aside, the fact remains that Margaret Kerry was the model for Disney's Tinker Bell, not Marilyn Monroe. This is verified by author John Grant in his book Disney's Encyclopedia of Animated Characters. I doubt that Mr. Grant would lie about something like that just to help sell his book.

Harold of Total Drama Insert Noun Here is a pretty obvious Jon Heder-as-Napoleon Dynamite expy, while Owen appears to be based on the late Chris Farley and Noah reminds me of David Spade.

Considering the Disney Peter was released in 1953 and Marilyn Monroe was born in 1926 I doubt she was 12, and had already started in many movies be 1953. It could be a myth though.

Marilyn wasn't a household name yet and hadn't penetrated pop culture until a few years after Peter Pan.

This was verified on the Peter Pan DVDs by historians and people who worked on the film.

She didn't start getting bigger roles in big productions until 1950's Asphault Jungle. Her breakthrough role was 1953's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, which came out the same year as PP. Since PP was in production for several years, a lot of things have to coincide for the animators to have started noticing Monroe prior to GPB.

Mort Goldwin in "Family Guy" is based on actor Woody Allen.

Jenny Wren from the 1935 Disney short WHO KILLED COCK ROBIN is based on Mae West.

Foghorn Leghorn is based on radio character Senator Klanghorn (sp)
