Character comparison: Beastly and Meowth

Half of this convo might belong in the Anime board, but I post in this board anyone since the other character is not Anime.

I have noticed a lot of simularities between Mr. Beastly (Care Bears) and Meowth (Japanize name Nyarth) of Team Rocket (Pokemon).

They both are one of kind species in their worlds, they both can talk. They both worship their boss, and everything they do is to impress their boss. And there goal is to catch something. Beastly trying to catch Care Bears, Meowth catch Pokemon particularly Pikachu.

Actully in the last season of two of the Nelvana Care Bears, No Heart became a figure head villain who barely appeared, ala Giovanni (Japanize name Sakaki), the main antagonist was Mr. Beastly and No Heart's niece Shreaky. And they followed the same Team Rocket fomula without the motto and dare I say IMO the style of Team Rocket. I guess Beastly and Shreaky were the original Team Rocket trio.

Show up, the heros don't fear them, cheesy disguices which for some reason the heros are stupid enough to fall off, and steal stuff which in the real world are collecator items Care Bears and Pokemon, and same type of exit in the end, though Team Rocket it was always the same.

Anyway simularies between these two hillarous but inept buffons?
 
I've never watched Care Bears, but is there really that much of a comparison? Meowth went through hell. He had a terrible life, and spent years working his tail off just to learn how to walk and talk. Even after all the trouble he went through, he was rejected by the love of his life. I don't know anything about Beastly, but I doubt he's had to go through the same hardships that Meowth has.
 
True, about the tragic back story of Meowth, but I am strictly talking about the present time on their respective series.

But I just want to clear things up, this is a "Character Comparison" which has done before, the main purpose is to disguess weather the characters in question have any simularities, not who is better.

If I wanted to do a thread about which character is better, the thread title would be "Beastly vs Meowth" or "Beastly or Meowth".

Just wanted to clear things up. Just like the title of a Pokemon episode, Meowth rules. So does Team Rocket as a whole, what can I say I love those buffons. As does Mr. Beastly in his own way.

Beastly had it worse. Once Shreeky showed up, he went from being a sidekick to comedy relief. Although he did have his moment when he initially refused Shreeky's offer to come back with her (he got fired because she blamed her thunderpit screw up on him and No Heart stupidly believed her (surprise surprise)).
 
Well Meowth has two people to deal with on a day to day basis, James and Jessie. Beastly only had one at a time,(rarely has No Heart and Shreeky bullied Beastly together).

Though I feel for James the most in Team Rocket. A couple of times, Jessie and Meowth ruin things for him. James is the one that gets bullied by the other team members the most. In terms of being bullied by his comrads, James plays that Beastly role in Team Rocket.

In the recent episode (recent for the U.S. anyway) All Dressed Up With Somewhere To Go Jessie and Meowth ruined James and Mime Jr to win the contest when they stole the egg. No guarantee he would have won, but he had a good chance. And when Team Rocket does their motto cry, you can tell James is heartbroken. (which is actully kind of funny to see, thought my heart was still acing for him) Dam those two, James and Mime Jr. did get at their revenge on them in the end though.

Though I disagree with TKnHappyNess in that Beastly was always comic relief.
