Chaotiic New Animation Style.!!!

Yeah, even as a cel-animated cartoon, Chaotic will still be the cheap, horrendous half-hour toy commercial that it was before when it was still in Flash.



It's reported to be one of the most popular CCGs in the USA.



So, it went from #3 to #2 on the list of most popular CCGs, eh? How far can its popularity go?
 
I know what you mean. The animation may look like a good improvement, but there are a lot of storylines that they could take. Personally, I also would have loved it if that episode where the monsters came to Earth was not a dream. There was just so much that they could have used for that. While it is there to sell the game, there isn't anything wrong with Chaotic from actually having a season plot/storyline to go with.



Wait a second. Chaotic is at number two now? So that would mean that Yu-Gi-Oh! is at number three. Wow. I didn't think that the card game would be that popular. I guess some people seem to find it interesting, even though the way it is on the show never really interested me. In fact, from the episodes I've seen, the ones where they're exploring the world of Perrim are more interesting than the ones where they're just playing the card game. But that's just me. You also bring up a good point about how the season ended with a cliffhanger so hopefully that will lead to a seasonal plot.
 
I have always felt they were trying to copy Jack Black with the way the Peyton character acted and talked, stright outta JB's acting playbook!

Anyway the animation looks fantastic. I'll be willing to give the show another chance. Hopefully the new animation comes with better plots!
 
A consistent ongoing plot would definitely be an improvement.

There was a short story arc around the middle of the season about Maxxor losing his courage, and it ended in "Maze of Menace." I actually liked that quite a bit, but then after the CodeMaster two-parter it became really boring for a long stretch until the season finale, which was actually pretty good and had an interesting cliffhanger.

But yeah, if they use conventional 2D animation from now on instead of Flash, expect 13-episode seasons instead of 26...and a shorter season fits an ongoing plot better, definitely.
 
Holy crap! That looks just plain awesome. That's on par with Japanese animation, there.

In fact, it's so much better than the Flash animation, I'll doubt I'll ever be able to watch season 1 without snickering at how awful it looks in comparison.

If we actually get a decent storyline going on, 4Kids could have a superb show on their hands.
 
Well, maybe you should wait and watch the revamp of Chaotic before you pass judgment on it. The show has good music, clever dialogue and relatively interesting characters. If 4Kids decides to use a more coherent plot in addition to the new 2D animation next season, I could very well see Chaotic becoming a quality action cartoon.
 
Chaotic may not be a masterpiece, but at least it's better than other card/toy/battling shows.. if only because it avoids most of the stereotypes you find in them. (dark, brooding pretty-boy rival, spunky hotheaded hero, etc)

Better animation seems like only a positive
 
Wow. Tom does kind of look like Jackie Chan from Jackie Chan Adventures in this image. Maxxor looks a bit improved with the muscles, but he mostly looks the same to me.
