Channels that need to go

You've got to keep FX, it's just about the only channel available in Sky's basic package that puts on any new shows. OK it does go a bit overboard with the cheezey cartoon-filler programmes, but they're easily avoided (and once you've had the misfortune to watch the trailers for them, you will really, really want to avoid them).
It would be nice if there was a version of FX that showed original british dramas and comedies. You know, like the BBC used to do :)

Unfortunately for you, Sky have been lobbying Ofcom to ensure it is allowed to do as it pleases on digital terrestrial television, hence the permission given to Sky to allow them to launch a pay TV service on that platform if they so choose, to the detriment of Freeview. Worse still, thanks to BT and Top Up TV getting greedy and wanting Sky's sports channels, Sky only reacted as it is free to do and removed Sky Sports News, a major blow for Freeview and universally criticised by viewers.

Basically this. Ofcom is a regulator which believes in the free market approach to how broadcasters operate. They are also far more likely to agree to whatever the broadcasters want regardless of what consumers say (ie. hence the loss of jazz from Smooth Radio or the permission for Sky to launch a pay TV service on digital terrestrial television as I mentioned before). Nothing we can do. Getting rid of Ofcom could make things even worse, the Tories truly believe in the free market and the likelihood of teleshopping, gaming and babe programming and channels being relaxed is far more likely.

BBC Three - Definitely. But it is for "yoof culture", which means that the audience has an IQ in single figures, and we get documentaries about UFOs by Danny Dyer.

ITV 2 - I think it should be renamed the Jordan and Peter Andre channel. Just a terrible piece of garbage. ITV need to save money, so give this the chop!

All of the religious channels.

ITV2 is mind-numbingly bad.

Peter Andre reality show.
Jordan reality show.
CelebAir.
Paris Hilton's BFF
That new Essex show...

I could go on...

I've noticed that LIVING is being advertised a heck of a lot on Channel One these days! Is this the beginning of the end? I'm on Freeview so I wont see anything on bloody LIVING anyway! And why are they promoting "V" so much - they still haven't said when it's on!! I'm sick of hearing "Coming soon"
I'm not happy with SKY!!!!!
