Changing from America's Choice to Nationwide plan - Voyager

personally Im not into all the vpack stuff cause i dont use the stuff that it offers. I HAVE been told by a Verizon associate that it is possible to BYPASS the need to upgrade to Nationwide plan in order to activate phones like the Voyager. I think what he was hinting at is the fact that you can go online to your "my account" site at Verizonwireless.com and enter the ESN number of the new phone which you plan to activate. It certainly seems possible to do it that way. In fact the associate told me that he was able to do a bypass of that rule with one of his own phones.

you may want to check into that if you know a friend that has the voyager (or other "nationwide exclusive phone"). try swapping the ESN of their phone with your own (at the website) and follow that up with dialing *228 option 1 to program it on your account. If the phone works, and i see no reason for it not to, you are all set.

So... with that in place, you should be able to keep your current plan and perhaps add on the mobile web package if need be.:smart:

You can not bypass the requirement for nationwide on phones such as the voyager or dare. Even if you do somehow manage this, features on the phone just will not work, such as the html internet and picture messages. The voyager plain and simple can not support the americas choice plans, the systems are not set up to handle the data access like the nationwide plans do.

Although the Voyager may be a cool phone, I will continue for as long as I possibly can to stay with my ACII plan, as I DO NOT want to pay $1.99 for every mb up and down. I use data features not very often, but when I do, I'd rather not be on a meter, nor the BB plan as well.
