Hi. I just got the HTC Aria and love Android 2.1, but then again, I came from a phone running win mobile 6.1. Anyway, I like how I can link my contacts to their facebook profile but I don't like how it facebook overrides my contact pictures that I set myself. Is there any way to keep the contact linked to facebook and not have it continually changing the contact picture?

There are apps out there that will allow you to do that. Try Facebook Sync. It'll allow you to sync with Facebook or keep the pic you want.

what is happening is that i go to the contact, press link at the top of the contact, hit menu and then it gives me the option of choosing the contact picture and the contact name. many times i have changed it to the picture i have on the phone, saved it that way and then it changes it and i'm happy. then later on for some reason, it changes back to the facebook profile picture on it's own. i have also noticed that it's only on some of the contacts and not on all.

What mgs991099a was saying witness137, was that there are alternative apps to the one that comes with your phone to sync Facebook. One of them is called Facebook Sync. Some apps give you more options. If you use/try such an app, remember to turn off Facebook synchronisation in the options, otherwise both your phone and the app will sync stuff, possibly overwriting each other's changes.
