I have a VX8300 I'm using with Verizon right now. Before I was using Fido with a Nokia 6126 phone. I want to use the 6126 phone with Verizon. Is this change possible?

not totally true what spike5000 says. but your ability to activate a phone from another carrier on the VZW network depends on a couple of things.

1. the phones type needs to be CDMA
2. you will have to program it yourself, using info from a phone that is currently activated WITH verizon.

I know a person at another forum that has a Razr from Telus and has it active on Verizon, but they did all the proper programming themselves.

And ive seen other people who have a phone from one carrier, flashed to a second carrier, and running on a third carriers network. Again, all that programming was done by the individual and not by the carrier(s)

At this time, you can only use Verizon Wireless phones. THe open network has not taken place. Now there are a few phones that can be activated, but only because of a lawsuit settlement, and that list is mainly older phones. Other than that the only other way to have a non vzw phone would be if your carrier was bought out by verizon wireless and they were not forced to upgrade phones and were compaitable with CDMA. At this time you can not activate non vzw phones that do not meet those conditions, however coming soon vzw is planing to open the network up to other phones.
