changing button icons

The button icons located on the graffitti screen (what ever they are called), is there a way to change what programs they activate? On my previous palms they were actually imprinted on the screen. On the T3 they appear digital and clearly can change, but how?

Just tap AND HOLD the button and a list of apps on the T3 will appear. Select the one you want, and instant new button.
