I saw a poster in my local Cineworld yesterday announcing some changes to 3D from November. It looks as if you can buy your own pair of 3D glasses to use at all 3D screenings you attaend and then the 3D prices will be cheaper. Not dropped altogether you notice. Not sure if you can bring in ones you have used before. I would imagine the 3D price will drop to

Movie House Cinemas in Ireland are the first cinema chain to completely drop the 3D fee so films cost the same to go and see whether they are in 3D or not. No extra charge for the glasses. Now, if only others followed suit...

Saw this sign in cineworld.

I'm not really into cartooney type 3d films so have so far refused to pay the extra cost to watch 3D films with my unlimited card. However should they drop to a quid I will probably go and watch a few more 3D films. I still have a couple of pairs of the glasses in my car, always take them in with me when I watch a film on the off chance I get to do a bit of screen hopping ;)

That's excellent! :)

I've been cutting down on my 3d viewings on principle, being an Unlimited card holder.

I was under the impression that the extra charge was to cover the extra costs being passed on from the film distributors though, not the cost of 3d glasses.

I went to see Up with one of my mates last night and it was the first time he had seen a 3D film. I ranted onto him for ages about my dislike for 3D due to a) the extra cost and b) the environmental factor. Then I see the sign that was mentioned and had to take it all back. However, I can''t see them dropping the the charge although, as I beleive that the specs only cost 75p.
