Changeling - Angelina Jolie

This film opens next Wed. 26th and is getting great reviews and over 8.0 score on IMDB. Set in 1928 it's a true story. Jolie plays a woman who's young son goes missing. The LAPD "return" him but it's a different boy. :o No-one believes her and they put her in a mental ward. Directed by Clint Eastwood it's a "must-see" they say.

I saw this on Wednesday and thought it was a fantastic film - very moving.

I also thought Angelina was excellent in the role of Christine Collins.

Got to see this tonight.

Agree with the consensus - an extremely moving film.

Angelina Jolie is superb in her role, as is the understated John Malcovich. Praise should also go to Jeffrey Donovan for creating a truely vile persona.

The film looks stunning too, with Eastwood capturing the glamour of the 1930s beautifully.

It does suffer though from what I like to call 'Lord of the Rings syndrome'. This could mean any manner of things, but what I'm referring to is the continual ending. Although there was a story to tell long after the 'story' had been resolved, I didn't feel Eastwood kept the momentum up sufficienty.

Still, a great film - get to see it if go can.

Rating - 4/5

I watched this the weekend and thought it was a really good film. I was slightly put off with Jolie in the lead, but she was good in this. I just wish I hadn't read the real stroy before I watched the film as I knew what happened etc so kind of spoilt it in the film sense. But it really is awful to think that this is a true story

Saw it last night. Beautiful film visually, totally captured the era.
Angelina is great in what is surprisingly an underwritten role I thought.
Horrifying to think this all happened.

I found it was a bit too deep and thought provoking for the chavs to bother with and one of the only films I've watched in months that hasn't been ruined by them, so you should be ok:). Four Christmases on the other hand was an absolute nightmare:mad:

Did anyone here see A mighty Heart?
I think Angelina's performance in that was actually stronger than this one, more subtle. But this a showier role and it's Clint so will get more attention

Here is an Article and real picture of Christine & Fake "Walter" from LA Times in 1928 (interesting read)

This will include Spoilers.. Please do not read if you have not seen this film!

Heres is an Updated Version of it:

I think Angelina often picks really crap films to star in. Tomb Raider. Mr and Mrs Smith, Woeful.

But she stole the show in Girl, Interrupted and she looks very good in the trailer for this. When she delivers, she can deliver in droves. It's just that she often enRAB up playing poor parts. She should learn to pick her parts more carefully.
