i just replaced the PCM on my little sisters 1997 jeep grand cherokee with one that I got from auto computer exchange.com (which by the way sucks) and done of the gauges work. The ac doesn't work, just blows hot air ( and we just recharged the system a month ago)

Can someone help me and tell me how to get these gauges to work.
The car was running perfectly before the pcm went out.
The Engine size is a V8, 5.2, The issue was that my sister lost her keys and had a key for the engine but not the alarm. We triggered the alarm and it shut off spark after many attempts to start the car. I should have read the mechanic book first but i didn't, In testing and trying to get spark i connected a 12 volt live lead to what I thought at the time was the coil connection from the distributor, i now know it was a cam position sensor, that is mounted with in the distributor, which i have now replaced also.
This was what fried the PCM.
I don't have any trouble codes as we have unplugged the battery over and over several times for over an hour.
I fear haveing to buy a PCM from Jeep & that going to cost so much anything over 300 is crazy This is why we tried a cheaper alternative that has now become more costly. The worst thing is this refurbished PCM make the car run badly and engine knocks now and smells as if was out of timing badly.
I'm suing autocomputerexchange.com
Paying Jeep over $300.00 for a PCM would be ridiculous considering the processing power of this device is worth nothing, my old desktop could probably out perform this PCM any day, it sucks that these things are made this way to cost consumers so much to repair, I wish we had a local alternative, in Dallas, Tx

There a a couple possibilities but more info will be necessary.
It could just be the PCM you bought is defective. Sure would'nt be the first time I've seen that.
I'd also like to know why you diagnosed the original PCM in the first place.

Can you re-submit with the following info..
Engine size.
Original complaint before PCM replacement (as detailed as possible).
And any trouble codes you may have had read from both the old PCM and the new one..

I'll check back. :)

Best of luck.
