change Date time format in PHP n Mysql?

hi,
im getting a value from calender control in a php page like this '16/12/2009 22:22:22'

when i want to update it in mysql it dont want to accept ,(but it is accepting '16/12/2009 22:22:22')

please tell me ..how can i update it to mysql..
